In 2012, Ghanaian CEOs and business executives met at the Netherlands Embassy in Accra to brainstorm on the topic:

“Should design gain more attention as a strategic management tool or as an economic sector in Ghana?” From this session, it was deduced that a better understanding of design as a management tool is needed by indigenous Ghanaian companies, as the participants believed and concluded that:

- Good design attracts more consumers.
- Good design builds brand strength at businesses.
- Good design enhances (regional) exports.
- Good design gives organizations and governments
a better reputation.
- Good design makes companies more competitive.

In February 2015, the Ghana Design Network (GDN) was launched to stimulate a better eco-system of Creative Business Services in Ghana.
